Halloween Witch Cupcake Recipe

Making these Halloween witch cupcakes are so much fun and you get to be as creative as you like as there are so many different ways to make these fun treats. I always get great reviews from the kids and Halloween party-goers when I bring these and they are super easy to make.

Halloween Witch Cupcake Instructions:

You can simply bake your favorite flavor boxed cake mix in fun Halloween themed cupcake liners or make your cupcake recipe from scratch- totally up to you. Cool them and you are ready to decorate as follows.

1) Using green food coloring, mix with a container or two of white icing (any flavor is fine- we use a butter cream) into a fun witch green color. Frost the cooled cupcakes with plenty of the frosting and set aside.

2) Take a chocolate ice cream waffle cone and set it flat on top of the frosted cupcake. You can also place a chocolate wafer on the cupcake first in order to make it look more like a witches hat. Melt 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips in the microwave on 50% power so the chocolate doesn’t burn.

Then, drizzle the cookie halves with the melted chocolate and press the cones down into the melted chocolate. Let the cones set on the cookies to cool. When fully cooled, the cones and cookies should form a pointed witch hat. Place on top the cupcakes

3) Make the witches face and hair. Decorate the cupcakes using licorice for the hair and mouth, and a couple little m&m for the eyes and a candy corn piece for her nose. You can also use small green gumdrops or other small candy for the witch’s nose and features.
