Grinchy Green Mint Truffles Recipe
These Grinch-themed mint truffles are easy to make, delicious, and perfect for the holiday season!
Servings: 12
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 1 package 15.25 oz mint-flavored sandwich cookies (like Mint Oreos), finely crushed
- 1/2 tsp peppermint extract optional for extra minty flavor
- 2 cups white chocolate chips or white candy melts
- Green gel food coloring
- Red heart sprinkles to mimic the Grinch's growing heart
- Crushed candy canes or green sugar sprinkles optional for decoration
Prepare the Truffle Filling
Crush the mint sandwich cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a resealable bag and crushing them with a rolling pin.
In a bowl, mix the crushed cookies with softened cream cheese until a smooth, dough-like consistency forms.
Add peppermint extract if desired for an extra minty flavor.
Coat with Green Chocolate
Melt the white chocolate chips or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments, stirring until smooth.
Add green gel food coloring to the melted chocolate until you achieve the desired Grinchy green shade.
Using a fork or a skewer, dip each truffle into the melted green chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Place the coated truffles back on the parchment paper.
Decorate the Truffles
While the coating is still wet, place a red heart sprinkle on each truffle.
Optionally, sprinkle crushed candy canes or green sugar sprinkles for extra flair.
